Ultrafast spectroscopy and lasing emission in organic microcavities
During this period of thesis the student will study organic materials to be used as active materials in microcavity to reach lasing emission. In the figure below it is possible to see the classical structure of the microcavity with the active material between the two mirrors. The lasing emission is tunable changing the thickness of the material inside the cavity.
To choose the right material the student will perform Pump-Probe measurements to look for optical gain region. In the figure below there is a schematic set-up of the P&P experiment and the output in which it is possible to see the optical region where it is present amplification.
