Rebeca Martínez Vázquez received the master-degree in Physics in 2000 and the PhD degree in Physics in
2005 at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. Between 2002 and 2004 she held a fellowship from the Physics Department of the Politecnico di Milano, Milan Italy, for the “Study and Optical and Electro-optical Characterization of new crystalline materials”. Between 2004 and 2010 she was a contract researcher at the Photonisc and Nanotecnologies Institute (IFN) of CNR at Milan (Italy). From February 2010 she has become a Staff Researcher of IFN-CNR. Her research activity is based on the modification by Femtosecond laser irradiation of polymer and glass materials to fabricate photonic devices and optofluidic lab on a chip. She is a co-author of 34 publications in international journals.
