Marco Finazzi obtained a Master Degree in Electronic Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, where he also obtained the PhD in Physics. He has worked at the Physics Department of Politecnico di Milano since the year 2001, first as an assistant Professor and then (from 2005) as an Associate Professor.

He is in charge of the Nano-optics laboratory at the Physics Department of Politecnico di Milano.

His scientific activity is in the field of Nanoscience, consisting in the investigation of the electronic, magnetic and optical properties of low-dimensional structures, where surface and confinement effects significantly affect the physical behavior of the system.
