Alberto Dalla Mora was born in Fiorenzuola d’Arda (PC), Italy, in 1981.

He graduated summa cum laude in Electronic Engineering (Italian first level degree) from Politecnico di Milano in 2003. He also graduated summa cum laude in Electronic Engineering (Italian second level degree) from the same university in 2006. In 2010, he obtained the Ph.D. degree summa cum laude in Information and Communcation Technology from Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione of Politecnico di Milano.

During the biennium 2010-2011 he has been Temporary Research Fellow in the Dipartimento di Fisica of Politecnico di Milano. Between 2011 and 2018, he has been Assistant Professor in the same department.

Since 2018, he is Associate Professor in the Physics Department of Politecnico di Milano.

His main research interests regard the time-resolved optical investigation of highly scattering media for clinical diagnostics applications, such as the non-invasive monitoring of brain function and diseases by pulsed near-infrared light.
