ISSNAF, the Italian Scientists and Scholars in North America Foundation, annually awards the Young Investigator Awards in various disciplines to outstanding, early-career Italian researchers working in the United States or Canada, in recognition of their significant and innovative contributions to their field of research.
During the 2023 annual ISSNAF event at the Italian Embassy in the United States in Washington DC, launched with a message from the Italian Minister of Health and from the Italian Ambassador Mariangela Zappia, the Award Chairs and members of the ISSNAF Scientific Council for the INFN B. Touschek Award, Prof. Patrizia Rossi (Jefferson National Lab) and Prof. Giorgio Gratta (Stanford University), and the jury, have awarded the 2023 ISSNAF Young Investigator Award to Dr. Chiara Trovatello, Marie Curie Global Fellow at Columbia University and Politecnico di Milano.
Established in 2022 by Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), the Young Investigator Bruno Touschek Award honors the memory of Prof. Bruno Touschek and recognizes contributions in the fields of fundamental interactions of matter, such as elementary particle physics, nuclear physics, cosmology and the physics of particle beams. Dr. Chiara Trovatello is recognized for her contribution to bridge microscopic and macroscopic nonlinear optics using highly nonlinear layered materials.
Congratulations Chiara!!!
